Touchstone Energy maintains a careers website for available jobs at electric cooperatives and other affiliated businesses across the United States. Job seekers can search for open positions, build an employment portfolio, and set up automatic notifications for desired employment opportunities.

Recognized as a leader in the field of innovation and customer satisfaction, the Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives network also offers its employees competitive salaries, excellent benefits packages and the satisfaction of performing work that improves their communities. Our co-ops are dedicated to helping further their employees’ careers, offering a full range of opportunities for distance learning, accreditation and professional development programs.

The Center for Energy Workforce Development is a non-profit consortium of electric, natural gas, and nuclear utilities and their associations—Edison Electric Institute, American Gas Association, American Public Power Association, Nuclear Energy Institute, and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

CEWD was formed to help utilities work together to develop solutions to the coming workforce shortage in the utility industry. It is the first partnership between utilities, their associations, contractors, and unions to focus on the need to build a skilled workforce pipeline that will meet future industry needs. Through this partnership, a national database of jobs opportunities is maintained for cooperative and non-cooperative utilities.

An Initiative to Recruit, Hire, and Honor Veterans

With more than 40% of veterans coming from rural communities and electric cooperatives facing workforce challenges driven by retirements and evolving technology, connecting veterans with cooperative careers is a win-win opportunity. NRECA's Vets Power Us initiative supports veterans, active military members, and their spouses by:

  • Helping veterans explore meaningful careers with electric cooperatives.
  • Helping co-ops recruit, hire, and honor veterans.

The program provides co-ops with recruitment resources while connecting veterans to rewarding career opportunities within the cooperative network.
