Rock Energy Cooperative, a fast-growing electric and natural gas cooperative in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, due to a pending retirement is seeking to fill the position of Operations Manager.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate and execute the co-op’s vision, mission, and strategic plan in addition to providing highly responsible technical support to the Director of Utility Operations. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing activities of the electric operations department, including construction, maintenance, and metering. Also required is the coordination of operations activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and utilities.
Other responsibilities include assisting in development of the annual operations budget and procurement of materials and equipment, originating and processing staking sheets and work orders in accordance with established procedures, and coordinating all electric work crews.
Dealing with government projects is a definite plus. A minimum of 10 years of distribution line work experience, including, construction, maintenance, and substation construction, is required. The candidate also must be able to accomplish tasks associated with metering, mapping, and other required engineering applications and to administer cooperative policies and procedures. The applicant must have excellent communication, public relations, and leadership skills as well as the appropriate computer skills. Salary for this supervisory, non-bargaining unit position will be commensurate with qualifications, and a competitive NRECA benefits package is offered.
