Jump River Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for an Operations Manager at our Ladysmith location. Successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective leadership of assigned personnel and assure adherence to safety and specifications requirements in the construction and maintenance of either energized or de-energized electric utility plant. This person also oversees the right-of-way maintenance program and purchases and maintains plant inventory.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with the members, employees, and non-members is necessary. Must be skilled in motivating, training, and evaluating subordinates in order to obtain the highest degree of productivity, and the development of individual capabilities. Must also be able to organize work to meet deadlines.
Requirements are a high school graduate, Journeyman Lineman certification, and a minimum of ten-year’s experience in distribution facilities. Experience should include all phases of construction, maintenance and system operation. A valid driver’s license and a CDL with minimum classifications of ABC&D is also required. Must also possess knowledge of RUS Materials Specifications Construction, National Electrical Safety Code® and OSHA Regulations. Computer experience is needed.
